Strategic Partnerships Manager - New York State
Job Description
DKAT Associates, Inc. has been retained by the New York State Brewers Association (NYSBA) to recruit for a Strategic Partnerships Manager. The NYSBA, a NYS 501(c)6 organization, was founded in 2003 to serve as a promotional and legislative proponent for New York State breweries, microbreweries, farm breweries, brewpubs and brewing affiliated businesses. The growth of the craft beer segment continues to be strong and New York State’s share of that growth has exceeded that of breweries on the national level. In the past 5 years, New York has climbed to #2 in the US craft beer scene. With over 500 breweries, New York offers a strong market for companies with breweries as their target market and companies wishing to connect with craft beer enthusiasts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead for all aspects of planning, producing and executing the annual NYS Craft Brewers Conference in Albany
Team support for all NYSBA events
Secure sponsorships and partnerships on all events, both BtoB and BtoC
Research and understand the complexity of similar events, ticketing models, venues, and costs
Procure new and maintain existing Allied Members
Negotiate agreements with venues and vendors
Cultivate deep relationships with prospects, partners and sponsors
Create event sponsors and partnerships packages, levels and benefits
Inspire companies to join/support the NYSBA
Provide marketing and sponsorship team members event details 6-months in advance
On-site event management
Work closely with marketing team members on event communications
Generate projection/growth reports for weekly team and board meetings
Invoice/pay vendors to close out event accounting within 2-weeks of an event
Continue to build and maintain CRM (MembershipWorks)
Work with colleagues to execute partnership agreement deliverables related to events
Negotiate terms and draft agreements related to sponsors and partners
Invoice and follow up with payment to ensure that agreements are fulfilled
REQUIREMENTS:
Background in event planning, production and execution
Experience with procuring and managing sponsors and partnerships
Capably to managing multiple projects concurrently working with the team and autonomously
Ability to be highly productive in a distributed work environment and work independently
Expertise in developing event concepts and executing supporting tasks in a timely manner
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills (across various applications)
Excellent time management with the ability to work 6-12 months in advance
Diligent with cutting expenses and growing revenue without compromising the event experience
Works with a high degree of personal and professional integrity
Genuine desire to help grow the craft brewing industry as a steward of NYS craft beer
Customer service mindset with strong negotiating skills
TRAVEL:
Travel within NYS (Events) and the US (Craft Brewers Conference)
COMPENSATION:
Remote, Full-Time Position
Base Annual Salary $54K plus Commissions (Estimate $85K+)
Benefits Negotiable
Must be a New York State Resident
