Job Description
DKAT Associates is assisting our client, a major historical regional brewery in Upstate NY, with finding the ideal Assistant Controller candidate. Here you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations and strategic initiatives of the company. Reporting directly to the Controller, you are required to manage various aspects of the Accounting Department. Functions will include but not limited to support and supervision of AP, AR, GL reconciliation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and manufacturing operations. Brewery background a plus. Job Responsibilities:
Supervise Billing (A.R), Vendor Payments (A/P), Cash Management, and other account needs
Delegate appropriate job duties as determined by the Controller
Assist in the month-end closing process and reconcile accounting inaccuracies
Assist in establishment of internal controls and appropriate processes for all accounting staff and monitor for inconsistencies, to redirect and strengthen staff-work efforts
Assist with work efforts of External Auditors, related to the year-end audit and tax preparation schedules
Maintain Credit & Collection efforts Customers to establish a concierge approach for Customer Service but keeping with the Company efforts to collect funds within the established time limits
Assist with establishing the Billing effort on all new customers
Develop financial reports within the accounting software to help all accounting staff perform their duties accurately and timely
Perform work accurately and efficiently in accordance with Company operating Procedures, and meet established deadlines according to generally accepted account and Company procedures
Supervise the Accounting staff for Billing, Payments, Collections, Cash Management and Data Reporting
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Work location – in office, in person
8 years accounting experience (preferred) – 4 years Cost and 4 years ERP systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving , communications and interpersonal skills
Skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to prioritize, and skilled critical thinking and time management
Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
